Even though many people don’t listen to the music I listen do, many people do as well. You’ll probably get a flavor of what I like from what you see below. And stop judging the tracks with Justin Bieber in them. Seriously. Stop. Without further ado, my top 10 songs of September 2016.
10. Dillon Francis – Need You
Like the energy, but it’s getting a bit repetitive. Won’t be on here next month in all likelihood. Amusing music video at the very least.
9. Taylor Swift – Bad Blood
No shame. NO SHAME.
8. Grace feat. G-Eazy – You Don’t Own Me (Candyland Remix)
Pretty atypical song. Has trap elements, 50s or 60s throwback elements, and more. I like it for that reason though.
7. Galantis – You
I’ve always been familiar with the song, but really got into it when I saw a random online poker streamer play it and liked it more than I remembered. As usual, a weird Galantis music video. Filmed in Hollywood, which is one of the places on Earth that totally repulses me.
6. Major Lazer feat. Justin Bieber & Mo – Cold Water
Decent song, good dancers in the video. I like Bieber’s videos with just dancers (i.e., Sorry), because then I don’t need to see him looking all emo and down.
5. DJ Khaled & Drake – For Free
Not-so-humble brag – as soon as I heard this song (before it was spammed all over the radio), I knew this would be one of the first songs Drake put out in 2016 with success. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut! (Is that even something I can brag about?)
4. Tujamo – Drop That Low
Tika LOVES this song. Probably because of the energy and party sounding feel. Also, she calls this ‘our song’, but she’s said that about roughly 10 other songs, so that doesn’t mean much.
3. Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha – Name of Love
I like some of the more unique sounds Garrix puts out in his songs, even though his stuff is pretty prescriptive. Also, Bebe Rexha has been on some pretty good songs now.
2. Conrad Sewell – Remind Me (Matvey Emerson Remix)
Living with my awesome buddy G (Civan) for 2 years caused me to like Deep House way more than I ever intended to. Here’s an example of something I would have totally glossed over before Skyline. Chill, relaxing, good vibes, yet still upbeat – all that nonsense.
1. DJ Snake feat. Justin Bieber – Let Me Love You
Starts off (and honestly sounds) like so many other DJ Snake songs, but whatever works, I guess. I just really love the hook, but I can see this being a song I tire of by next month. Until then, though – THE BIEBS! (shameface)
That wraps up the Top 10 Songs of September 2016. Most of these bad boys (and gals) can be found on iTunes, Beatport, or various other sites. Or you can just bump them on Spotify. Or Youtube. Whatever works, man.
